The Motive behind Commercials
While we sit and watch the ole one eyed monster the television you should notice that there are a plethora of different commercials advertising different and similar products and services. Then there are those other commercials that promote particular social point of views or particular political point of views. All in all commercials are designed for us to buy into whatever service, product, or idea that is being sold. Commercials create the demand for a product, service, or ideology that may have absolutely no true value to the consumer. Most commercials are witty, vibrant, personalized, and enjoyable. It is like it touches basis with us on a personal level and that it understands what we need and it draws us to that particular product. Advertising is not a bad thing but it has been transformed into a fantasy created, brainwashing consumer, demand creating, money making medium. Since people go broke over these products and or services advertised, the question is-do these companies really care about getting a needed product or service out to the people or is it about making money? The answer to that question is the money! So the motive behind commercials is to make money and have the power or control and influence over people.
There are several things that commercials do:
1. Creates a demand-introduces new products/services to the public and keeps established products/services in the consumers mind.
2. Persuades and seduces viewers in thinking they need the product or service advertised.
3. Induces unnecessary spending-after the seduction comes the spending.
4. Only pushes certain political views and other social ideologies into the minds of the masses-republican/democratic agenda and homosexual rights/agenda,
5. They promote unhealthy lifestyles-drinking, smoking, drugs w/dangerous side effects,promiscuous sex, fast food and the fast life.
We the consumer do not determine what is valuable to us. They determine it for us. They put the product out on the market, advertise it, place their value of the product on the public, the consumer believes that the product is valuable and is needed,the consumer buys the item with the perceived value, the item ends up being less valuable than advertised, the consumer losses money while the advertising agencies, TV companies, and corporations get paid millions if not billions off a product or service that is not worth the foretold value.
According to J.T. Barett in his article " Brainwashing Techniques in TV Commercials", there are five brainwashing techniques that are used in commercials to brainwash the masses. The acronym for these techniques are {CRATS} which stands for CONFUSION, REPETITION, ASSOCIATION, TRUST, & SEX SELLS.

Some TV ads present you with a jumble of strange images. This overloads your thinking and makes you easier to persuade.
Repetition
Repeating a product name or catchphrase is a classic advertising technique. Like pounding in a nail, repetition drives the message home. How many times have you seen the same ad repeated in a few hours?
Association
Ads will show the images of a product with things the seller wants you to think of when you think of the product. A car shown with a tiger suggests the car is fast and powerful.
Trust
Ads will show clowns, puppies and children to say, in effect, "this will not hurt you." Or they might show bank vaults or mountains to say, "this is solid and reliable."
Sex Sells
It's hard to ignore sexy women and men when they pitch something on TV. And boy-meets-girl ads say, in effect, "this will get you a partner."

Agenda: Television and Movie Programming
What is the agenda of television and movie programming? Well it is just that--to program. It shapes our perceptions of society, self, what is acceptable and what is not acceptable socially, it shapes or thought patterns, how we dress, talk, and act. We model ourselves after these sitcoms, blockbusters, and other t.v. programming. Agenda programming actually regulates our day to day life and dealings. How many times have we done or said something because it was said or done on a t.v. show or a movie. There could be a bomb that hits a location and the conversation in the room would probably be about sports or "keeping up with the Kardashians". Television and movie programming keeps our minds away from the real issues by flying us away to some fantasy world provided via television or the big screen. Why worry about our economy or the conflict in the middle east when we can hear the latest "Hot Topics" from The View or Wendy Williams?
A major agenda for this agenda programming is to "normalize immorality" or to make acceptable what once was unacceptable. For example- Homosexuality which was at one point considered taboo is now being pushed hard on many different sitcoms , movies, and shows to where it is now culturally acceptable. Normalizing immorality is part of process of globalization, it is a part of bringing on the one world government. It says in scripture that the last days will be like the days of Noah and it is. These programs are full of violence, sexuality out right or innuendos of(homo and heterosexual) nature, immoral sexual acts, alternative life styes, licit and illicit drugs, alcohol and every other act that does not please the Most High. Why do you think that we have a highly sexual, violent, self-centered, and fallen culture? It is because we imitate what we see and we as Americans spend a whole lot of time on the tube absorbing the garbage that is coming out of it. It effects us whether we admit to it or not. A lot of these things are hidden subliminally especially in children and teens shows. The programming uses more innuendo agents than subliminal messages in teen shows. These days with parents having to work the majority of the day our children especially our teenagers are left to absorb this violent, social, and sexual ideology. The techniques used by advertising agencies, t.v. networks, movie producers, and corporations to brainwash the masses into immorality, are two well known techniques called classical conditioning and social learning.
Classical Conditioning and Social Learning
Classical conditioning is defined as: A process of behavior modification by which a subject comes to respond in a desired manner to a previously neutral stimulus that has been repeatedly presented along with an unconditioned stimulus that elicits the desired response. For example, in Pavlov's experiments, food is the unconditioned stimulus that produces salivation, a reflex or unconditioned response. The bell is the conditioned stimulus, which eventually produces salivation in the absence of food. This salivation is the conditioned response. (The Free Dictionary by Farlex).
Social learning is defined as: a change in behavior that is controlled by environmental influences rather than by innate or internal forces. In zoology, social learning is exhibited by innumerable species of birds and mammals, who modify their behavior by observing and imitating the adults around them. Birdsong is a socially learned behavior. (The Free Dictionary by Farlex).
According to David Grossman in his book, On Killing(1995,pg 302-305) is: "Classical conditioning is at work when one sits comfortably in front of a movie or television screen watching mayhem and carnage while eating popcorn and drinking a soda." then he goes on to say "Social learning enters the scene when a whole new series of role models, such as Freddy Kruger, do not end up saving the girl and kissing the horse, but slash the girl's throat and the horses, too".
